Equipment

All fishing equipment and licensing is supplied by the Captain.  You are more than welcome to bring a couple of your favorite rod and reels if that’s what you’d like to do.  Please make sure that they are in tip top condition as there is no greater heart break than losing a good fish due to tackle failure.

A Typical Trip

All things fishing revolve around the weather, tides, moon, wind, grass and a host of other things.  As said before, whether I’m on a charter or not, I try to fish 2-3 times a week to stay on the fish.  Depending on where the current bite is, there may be a bit of a run to the areas we are going to fish.  Your comfort is my absolute concern.  If you have any issues with back, knees or other things, please let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

Conditions and tide will determine the techniques we use for fishing.  I use the cork and jig drift method as well as live and dead bait when we are real close in.  Certain times of the year and certain winds allow us to throw topwater plugs too.

Pick-Up

From the Dixie or Taylor County boat ramp to the many marinas up and down the river, just let me know where you are staying and I’ll bring my boat right to the dock.  Again my cell phone number is 352-538-3431.
